When most people picture Christmas at Walt Disney World, they immediately think of Cinderella Castle and Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas Party. But the holiday magic doesn’t stop at Magic Kingdom!
EPCOT, Hollywood Studios and Animal Kingdom each celebrate Christmas in a completely different way. You can taste holiday dishes from around the world, wander through glamorous vintage decorations and even meet life-sized winter animal puppets.
If you’re planning a Disney World Christmas vacation, here is what you can expect at the other three parks—and which one may be the best fit for your family.
Some holiday experiences, menus and entertainment may change each year. Always check the official Disney World website before your trip.
Christmas at EPCOT
If your ideal Christmas includes festive food, live music and traditions from around the world, EPCOT may become your favorite Disney park during the holidays.
The main event is the EPCOT International Festival of the Holidays, which takes place throughout World Celebration, World Discovery, World Nature and World Showcase. In 2026, the festival is scheduled to run from November 27 through December 30.
Unlike a separately ticketed Christmas party, the festival is included with regular EPCOT admission. Food and drinks from the festival kitchens cost extra.
Experience Christmas Around the World
One of the best parts of Christmas at EPCOT is learning how different cultures celebrate the season.
As you explore World Showcase, you may encounter storytellers and performers sharing holiday traditions from countries such as Mexico, Norway, France, Italy and the United Kingdom.
This makes EPCOT feel like several Christmas vacations rolled into one. You can experience a German holiday market, listen to seasonal stories and enjoy festive flavors without ever leaving the park.
Try the Holiday Kitchens
Come hungry because seasonal food is one of the biggest reasons to visit EPCOT at Christmas.
Holiday Kitchens appear throughout the park with small plates, desserts and drinks inspired by celebrations from around the world. The exact menus can change, but you can usually expect a mixture of savory comfort foods, Christmas desserts and specialty beverages.
Sharing several dishes is a fun way for families to sample more of the festival without filling up at the first booth.
Complete the Holiday Cookie Stroll
Anyone with a sweet tooth should look for the Holiday Cookie Stroll.
Pick up a festival passport, purchase the designated cookies and collect a stamp for each one. After completing the required stops, you can present your passport for a special completion treat.
You don’t have to finish the entire stroll in one visit, so it can also be spread across multiple EPCOT days.
Watch the Candlelight Processional
The Candlelight Processional is one of Disney World’s most beautiful and meaningful Christmas traditions.
A celebrity narrator retells the traditional Christmas story while accompanied by an orchestra and a large choir. Performances take place at the America Gardens Theatre in World Showcase.
The show is included with EPCOT admission, but seating can fill quickly. A Candlelight Processional Dining Package can be a good option if this experience is one of your top priorities because it includes a meal and guaranteed seating for a designated performance.
Disney has confirmed that the Candlelight Processional will return during the 2026 festival, although narrator schedules and additional details may be announced closer to the event.
What to Wear to EPCOT at Christmas
EPCOT is the perfect place for a retro holiday outfit inspired by traveling around the world.
Pair your Christmas shirt with comfortable sneakers, a festive headband and a lightweight jacket that can be tied around your waist during the warmer part of the day.
Why We Love EPCOT at Christmas
EPCOT offers the most complete daytime holiday experience outside Magic Kingdom. It has food, music, cultural traditions and beautiful decorations, all without requiring a separate party ticket.
It is especially good for adults, couples, families with older children and anyone who considers seasonal food an essential part of Christmas.
Christmas at Disney’s Hollywood Studios
Christmas at Hollywood Studios feels glamorous, colorful and delightfully nostalgic.
Hollywood Boulevard and Sunset Boulevard are dressed for the season with oversized ornaments, glowing garlands and decorations inspired by vintage Hollywood. Once the sun goes down, the park becomes even more beautiful.
It feels less like a traditional Christmas village and more like stepping into a festive holiday movie.
Enjoy the Vintage Christmas Decorations
The decorations are a major reason to visit Hollywood Studios during the holidays.
Retro ornaments, colorful stars and old-fashioned decorations complement the park’s classic architecture. Echo Lake is another fun area to explore, with its playful decorations and enormous Christmas tree.
This is also one of the best parks for taking holiday photos. Plan to take some during the day and return after dark when the lights are glowing.
Look for Seasonal Entertainment
Hollywood Studios typically adds festive touches to its regular entertainment, character experiences and dining locations during the holiday season.
Because entertainment can change from year to year, check the My Disney Experience app before your visit for current showtimes, character appearances and nighttime offerings.
Attend Disney Jollywood Nights
Guests looking for a more exclusive evening can purchase a ticket to Disney Jollywood Nights.
This separately ticketed event combines old-Hollywood glamour with Christmas entertainment, special character experiences, festive photo opportunities and access to select attractions with lower waits.
For 2026, Disney Jollywood Nights is scheduled on select evenings from November 7, 2026, through January 5, 2027. The event runs from 7:30 PM until 12:30 AM, with ticket holders permitted to enter Hollywood Studios beginning at 5:30 PM.
Regular park admission is not required when entering with a valid Jollywood Nights ticket during the event’s permitted entry period. Tickets are date-specific and availability is limited.
You can see the current dates, prices and details on the official Disney Jollywood Nights page.
Is Jollywood Nights Worth It?
Jollywood Nights may be worth the additional cost if you enjoy:
-
Special holiday entertainment
-
Unique character encounters
-
Glamorous Christmas photo opportunities
-
Shorter waits for select attractions
-
Dressing up for a festive night out
Families mainly interested in decorations and rides can still have a wonderful Christmas visit during normal park hours. You do not need a Jollywood Nights ticket to enjoy the regular holiday atmosphere around Hollywood Studios.
What to Wear to Hollywood Studios at Christmas
This park is made for a fun retro Christmas outfit. Think vintage lettering, starbursts and a little old-Hollywood sparkle.
SHOP MY HOLLYWOOD CHRISTMAS SHIRT
Wear it with jeans or a festive skirt, comfortable park shoes and a light jacket for the evening. If you’re attending Jollywood Nights, you can make the outfit slightly dressier while keeping it comfortable enough for attractions.
Why We Love Hollywood Studios at Christmas
Hollywood Studios has the most stylish Christmas atmosphere at Disney World. Its combination of nostalgia, colorful decorations and nighttime lights makes the park feel festive without losing its Hollywood personality.
It is an especially fun choice for teens, couples and anyone who loves retro Christmas style.
Christmas at Disney’s Animal Kingdom
Animal Kingdom offers the most natural, peaceful and unexpected Christmas celebration of the four Disney World parks.
Instead of covering every area with traditional red and green decorations, the park incorporates handmade details, animal-inspired designs and holiday traditions that complement each land.
Meet the Merry Menagerie
The Merry Menagerie is one of the most charming holiday experiences at Walt Disney World.
Discovery Island comes alive with artisan-sculpted animal puppets, including winter creatures such as penguins, polar bears, foxes and reindeer. The puppeteers interact with guests, allowing the animals to play, pose for pictures and explore the area.
Children will love meeting the animals, but the detailed puppets are equally impressive for adults.
This experience also inspired one of my favorite Animal Kingdom Christmas looks.

Explore the Holiday Decorations
Each area of Animal Kingdom adds its own cultural and artistic personality to the season.
Discovery Island features handcrafted decorations inspired by animals and nature, while other lands use colors and materials that fit their surroundings. The result feels thoughtful and authentic rather than like the same Christmas decorations were placed throughout the entire park.
Take time to notice the smaller details. Animal Kingdom’s holiday décor is often found in shop windows, wreaths, lanterns and ornaments that are easy to miss when rushing between attractions.
See the Tree of Life After Dark
If the park remains open after sunset during your visit, spend time near the Tree of Life after dark.
The illuminated tree creates a beautiful setting for an evening walk and makes a memorable ending to your Animal Kingdom day. Seasonal nighttime touches may vary, so check the entertainment schedule for your date.
What to Wear to Animal Kingdom at Christmas
Animal Kingdom calls for earthy Christmas colors, comfortable clothes and plenty of personality.
A muted green, warm red, cream or natural-colored Christmas shirt fits beautifully with the park’s scenery. Pair it with shorts or lightweight pants for the afternoon and carry an extra layer for the evening.
Comfortable shoes are especially important here because the park’s trails and attractions can involve a lot of walking.
Why We Love Animal Kingdom at Christmas
Animal Kingdom’s celebration feels creative, warm and different from the other parks. The Merry Menagerie alone makes it worth visiting during the holiday season.
This is the best Christmas park for younger children, animal lovers, photographers and anyone who prefers a quieter holiday atmosphere.
